Here are some options for worship and prayer in these weeks when we at King of Kings are “fasting” from gathering as a congregation because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
FOR SATURDAY 3/21 & SUNDAY 3/22 WORSHIP
There will be no services this weekend. I have prepared a sermon. Visit here to read or print it.
Christ Lutheran (Fullerton and South Sts. In Newburgh, across from NFA) will be offering a livestream of its worship at 10:00 am (Sunday, 3/22), with the live feed beginning a couple of minutes prior to that. You may access this service at facebook.com/christnewburgh. The church will not be open.
SET TIMES FOR PRAYER
You are invited to join with other members and friends of King of Kings to pray “together” (wherever you happen to be) three times a day: at 9:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 8:00 pm. You may join in prayer once a day or three times or whenever you remember. You may pray your own prayers, use the litany from Luther Seminary, or pray the prayer below.
As we are separated for the sake of the more vulnerable among us, please watch over all your people. Help us to be wise and careful, and help us to care for one another. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN
SANCTUARY OPEN DURING OFFICE HOURS
The sanctuary will be open during office hours, Monday-Friday, 10:30 am-12:30 pm. Prayer aids will be available.
Visit this link for a few resources which may be helpful.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are in need of a listening ear. You are all in my prayers.
Pastor Mary Lou
King of Kings Lutheran Church, located in New Windsor, New York, welcomes neighbors in the Greater Newburgh community to worship, learn, and serve together.
Affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Greater Newburgh Interfaith Council, we practice our Christian faith while respecting the beliefs and practices of our neighbors in other faith communities.
We offer weekly Eucharist (Holy Communion) on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.; Evening Prayer on Thursdays at 7 p.m.; Christian Education on Sunday (during the school year) and Thursday at 10 a.m. We also partner with local social ministries and open our doors to the Boy Scouts, local support groups such as AA and Al-Anon, and private events. To accommodate everyone, the King of Kings Church building is accessible.
To participate in any of these activities, contact the Church office (845-565-7645; email@example.com) or visit during office hours (Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm), 543 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY (between the New Windsor Town Hall and Temple Hill Academy). We look forward to meeting you!
